One of the pool lovers in the country Joseph Meka said pool is not gaining ground due to lack of sponsorship from corporate world and lack of passionate from players.
He was speaking during a one day pool competition organized by Gladson Banda which was held at Blantyre Flea Market to interact and showcasing the talent and skills of pool players.
During the tournament the champion Mr. Mbila went home with a goat after edging other 15 players while the runners-up Mr. General received chicken (local Tambala).
Meka also said another contributing factors for the sport not to grow is that the most players have not passion for the game and play casually.
“Most of the players we have they lack seriousness when they play the game. They have no interest with pool hence the sports is not growing like in any other countries,” he said.
The tournament Organizers Gladson Banda applauded the players for overwhelming response and promised to organize another competition shortly.
