Flames assistant coach, Peter Mponda, says Flames have no problem with the rainy weather condition in Yaounde ahead of a group B AFCON qualifier clash against Cameroon.

The team had a light training at a rainy Younde Military Stadium after arrival at La Falaise Hotel in Yaounde yesterday.

Mponda has boldly described the weather condition as very exciting, this morning.

“We are ready and we feel excited, rainy conditions make the playing field better and we have right boots for the weather,” he confidently said.

Today will be the second day of training sessions for Flames. They will have two sessions one from 11:30 Malawian time and the other one in the afternoon. The first session is underway.

Flames are considered as underdogs in the clash considering the fact that most of Cameroon players are playing in elite leagues in Europe. Due to this, many Malawians have ruled out Flames’ victory in this coming Friday’s encounter.

When asked of what Malawians anticipating the clash against Cameroon should expect, Mponda said the team has the belief and hope that something is about to happen.

“We have hope and belief that something will happen. We are not limiting ourselves since the God we serve has no limits,” he explained.

In the absence of injured captain Limbikani Mzava, Vice-captain John Lanjesi will lead his colleagues and the game will be played at 16:30, Malawian time, at Omnisports Ahmadou Ahidjo stadium.
