Since the start of TNM Super League teams FISD Cup category this week, there have been complaints of poor decisions by match officials.
It all started on Tuesday in a match between Blue Eagles and Mzuzu University FC at Nankhaka, where Mzuni coach, Gilbert Chirwa, complained of a bad decision when referee awarded Eagles a controversial free kick which led to a first goal, in their 2-0 defeat.
Another incident citing referee decision happened on Wednesday in a match between Civo Sporting Club and Karonga United, when the ref awarded a penalty to Civo.
Karonga UTD coach, Christopher Nyambose, believes awarding Civo a penalty in Wednesday’s match was not genuine.
“The defender never handled the ball but it hit him on his face and he was even bleeding, so the referee had a hand in our loss to Civo,” Nyambose complained.
Just as Tuesday’s game, Karonga bowed out of the FISD Cup after a 2 goals to nil defeat at Civo Stadium.
In yesterday’s FISD Cup Challenge matches, Kamuzu Barracks won by 2-1 against Dwangwa United, while Bullets Reserve defeated Hangover Hammers by 2 goals to nil.
