Sussana Dinnage has been confirmed as the new English Premier League Chief Executive and will replace incumbent Richard Scudamore in 2019.
Scudamore has decided to step down from the post after serving for about 20 years.
The lady, Dinnage, will begin his tenure in January, and is currently working at Discovery, a media organization as a president of the Animal Planet channel.
According to SkySports, she expressed her excitement for the job, and also said the league is an inspiration to many people.
“I am excited at the prospect of taking on this fantastic role.
“The Premier League means so much to so many people. It represents the pinnacle of professional sport and the opportunity to lead such a dynamic and inspirational organisation is a great privilege.
“With the support of clubs and the team, I look forward to extending the success of the League for many years to come,” she wrote this on the Premier League’s website.
The lady was recommended by a five-person panel of judges.
Chelsea chairman, Bruce Buck was one of the people on panel, and recommended Dinnage’s appointment in front of a meeting of Premier League clubs this month.
“We are very pleased to appoint such a capable leader to this important role.”
“We had a very strong field, but Susanna was the outstanding choice given her track record in managing complex businesses through transformation and digital disruption,” he said.
SkySports further indicates that for the past four years, the incumbent has combined two roles at the body; his main role and as a chairman.
As it is, the Premier League will now be hunting for a non-executive chairman.
