Ronny Van Geneugden (RVG) left the country on Wednesday for his home country after Football Association of Malawi (FAM) decided not to renew his contract as Malawi National Team coach.
RVG said that working in Malawi was a great experience.
FAM executive officials over the weekend decided not to renew RVG’s contract due to poor presentation.
RVG confessed that there should be constancy on Malawi coach post saying changing personnel will make the job unstable and unattractive proposition.
“Of you are changing coach every year or you have 10 coaches in the last years, what is a philosophy,” RVG wondered.
He said the recurrent changes of coaches at Flames will not help coaches to develop a relationship with players.
Former coach said it’s difficult for coach to impose his philosophy when you limited to two years, you cannot build that sort of success.
“If you want success you must look for longer term,” RVG said.
RVG further blamed the office of technical director and technical subcommittee for not supporting him.
Meanwhile, Meke Mwase is now chosen as caretaker coach for the Championship of African Nations (Chan) qualifier against e-Swatini formarly known as Swaziland on April 20.
