Stain Davie has rejoined TN Stars after failing to beat Mozambique players’ registration deadline due to lack of some documents.

Davie joined EHN of Mozambique on a season-long deal from Stars last month, but the deal has been cancelled.

TN Stars Director, Wisdom Chimgwede on Wednesday said that the striker’s move to Mozambique has been cancelled due to delays in the registration process.

“There were hitches in his registration because they started the process late. It was discovered that he did not have other valid documents such as a passport. He is back with us and he is in a good mood after a refresher in Mozambique,” Chimgwede said.

He added that when they started the process, it was too late because the player’s passport was not ready to complete the international clearance. He signed the deal while in Malawi but he travelled to Mozambique after his passport was ready.

However, there could be a sigh of relief for the striker as the transfer window re-opens next month in Mozambique.

Football Association of Malawi Transfer Matching System Manager, Casper Jangale, said they issued the player’s International Transfer Clearance on time.

“In our records, Davie’s clearance was issued on the same day he signed the deal with the Mozambican club. But I cannot disclose the other details because the matter is in the hands of Mozambique Football Federation,” Jangale said.

The striker was an unused substitute in a dead-rubber African Cup of Nations qualifier between the Flames and Morocco. The game ended goal-less at Bingu National Stadium in Lilongwe.

Davie was a revelation in the Super League last season, having scored 13 league goals.
