Malawi’s female top Boxer, Anisha Bashir has been offered a Mercedes Benz C180 Kompressor by a Zimbabwean businessman Baba Chopa if she wins the World Boxing Council (WBC) silver lightweight fight against Briton Chantelle Cameron.
Bashir is about to face the Briton in the elimination WBC bout on June 28 at York Hall in London.
Cyde Musonda of Deltaforce Boxing Academy in Zimbabwe where Bashir is camping confirmed the development saying that the two parties have signed an agreement on the offer.
“What a great opportunity for my boxer to fight best female boxers of the world. We have been waiting for this fight to happen. As we speak, Bashir has been offered a car by Zimbabwe businessman if she wins,” he said.
On her part, Bashir described the offer as a motivation ahead of the bout.
“It is a big motivation. That aside, this is a big bout I need to do well. I am doing everything possible to do well,” she said.
Bashir’s management team, No Pain No Gain, said they opted to abandon the two belts and go for WBC silver lightweight belt in which she is fourth in line.
Meanwhile, the Malawi National Council of Sports Best Female Athlete of the Year won the two belts after defeating Kenyan Consolota Musanga in 2017 and Scottish Samantha Smith last year, respectively.
