Silver Strikers have banned four supporters for three seasons following acts of violence that blemished their TNM Super League game against Kamuzu Barracks.
According to a press statement dated May 13, 2019, the supporters have been banned following an extraordinary meeting held last Thursday at Reserve Bank of Malawi Clubhouse.
The supporters are identified as Mulo Makina, Mr. Mdala, Mr. Ndasowa and another simply called Rasta.
“The aforementioned supporters were involved in violence that led to ugly scenes and fracas at Silver Stadium soon after the TNM Super League game against Kamuzu Barracks by forcing their way into the dressing room, attacking the club’s security officer, spilling beer and decadent language to the technical panel.
“The four supporters are hereby not allowed to enter Silver Stadium, watch any game involving Silver Strikers (home or away matches) or participate in any football-related activities involving Silver Strikers during the period of the ban,” reads part of the statement signed by Silver General Secretary, Lawrence Yobe.
Meanwhile, Silver supporters Chairperson, Kingsley Malaya said that the banned fans had exceeded limits in their behaviour.
