Be Forward Wanderers Football Club has moved up to third on the 16-team log table in the TNM Super League after beating Kamuzu Barracks (KB) 2-0 at Kamuzu Stadium in the commercial capital Blantyre on Sunday.
Following the loss, KB dropped to second position on the table behind Blue Eagles.
KB has 14 points from seven games while Wanderers have collected 13 points from six games.
Wanderers assistant Coach, Oscar Kaunda, made three changes to the team that thrashed Dwangwa United 5-0 last weekend as Francis Mlimbika replaced Ted Sumani whereas Stanley Sanudi and Peter Cholopi returned from Malawi national football team duties to star for the Lali Lubani Road side.
Wanderers Team Manager, Victor Maunde, said “The boys were impressive and we will continue this way.”
KB Coach, Billy Phambala, conceded defeat, saying it was difficult to play two games in one weekend.
“We had another difficult game on Saturday but we are determined to bounce back,” Phambala said.
In another match played on Sunday, Savenda Chitipa United ended their fruitless trip to the Central Region with a 1-0 loss to TN Stars after going down 2-0 to Mlatho Mponela on Saturday.
