Board of trustees of Be Forward wanderers has declined to give its position on the k124 million, TNM dealership scam which implicated the clubs General secretary, Mike Butao,Malawi sport has the details.

As the issue surfaced two weeks ago, the board has not stated its position on the issue.

Instituted clubs investigation revealed that there was an abuse of funds from the contract with Super League, TNM

Rashid Gaffer, Trustees Chairperson, declined to state what action they had taken on those involved.

“We are not saying anything as a Board of Trustees. We agreed to have one spokesperson on this matter, and that person is Gift Mkandawire [Wanderers Executive Committee Chairperson]. He is the one speaking on behalf of everyone as regards this matter,” Gaffar said in a brief response.

Mkandawire reiterated his phone, saying they were not in a hurry to conclude the matter. He said they were considering several proportion to ensure that the resolved in a fair manner.

“We need to do our homework properly before acting decisively. There could be repercussions for the club if we are not careful. We know that emotions are quite high but, as I have always said, there is need for patience among stakeholders. We will come up with an official statement in due course,” Mkandawire said.

He said Butao was not discharging his duties as circumstances did not allow him to do so.

“There are four of us running the club together. My vice Allan [Chuma], Hubert Mfune [Second Vice Chairperson], Robert Mbedza [Treasurer] and myself are running the club’s affairs in a shared responsibility. So our supporters should be assured that everything is in order,” Mkandawire said.

A statement released by Wanderer’s last week that they were in the process of fully understanding the findings.

“We have had meetings with trustees and executive and have mapped the way forward, which is now an internal matter,” the statement reads.
