The former Nyasa Big Bullets General Secretary Higher Mkandawire has refuted reports circulating on social media that he received message from referee Grade one Easter Zimba.
Social media has been awashed with reports that Mkandawire received a message which was mistakenly sent by FIFA referee Easter Zimba claiming his money he was promised by Mighty Be Forward Wanderers chairperson Gift Mkandawire.
According to the rumour that is circulating on the social media, it is reported that Zimba who officiated the TNM Super League match between Mighty Be Forward Wanderers and Kamuzu Barracks at Civo Stadium few week ago, agreed to favour the Blantyre giant of which he awarded a penalty to them in the dying minutes. Babatunde Adepoju was a scorer of that penalty by rebound after goalkeeper of Kamuzu Barracks, Lemani Nthala saved actual penalty.
Commenting on the alleged claims, Mkandawire said that he did not received any strange message from Zimba.
“This is not true story.I have not received any message from Grade one referee Easter Zimba,” said Mkandawire.
Mkandawire, former Nyasa Big Bullets spokesperson also denied reports made by Angaliba FM yesterday in their sports program claiming he confirmed of receiving the message.
“Angaliba FM called me on the same issue, but I have told them that it’s not true, I haven’t received any message from Zimba, I even don’t have his phone number, what Angaliba has reported is totally untrue,” he added.
Meanwhile issue is the hand of Football Association of Malawi (FAM).
