Austrian midfielder Roland Putsche has returned to training at Cape Town City and could be back in contention to play in the Absa Premiership later this month, officials said on Friday.
The highly rated Putsche was put through his paces in a friendly match last weekend as he continues his way back after serious injury and has been training with the team although was not included in the squad that flew on Friday to Nelspruit to take on SuperSport United in Saturday’s Absa Premiership clash.
Both Putsche and Thabo Nodada, who is also still not back to full fitness, suffered severe injuries in the same game in February when Ajax met Highlands Park in the Nedbank Cup.
Putsche needed knee surgery while Nodada suffered a leg fracture.
