Christiano Ronaldo wants to find McDonald’s ladies who gave him food as a hungry child
A former Manchester United player and Real Madrid desperate to meet again with McDonald’s ladies who met when he was a kid, 11 or 12 years old. Ronaldo has been missing them for a long period of time since when he was 11 or 12 years old where they lived in the same place in Lisbon in Portugal.
Ronaldo’s upbringing was a humble one. It’s a far cry from the life he lives now, with luxury cars and lavish houses the norm. The 34-year-old opened up more about his childhood in Madeira during an interview with Piers Morgan on ITV.
With little money, Ronaldo would go to the local McDonald’s to beg for burgers. And he’s now desperate to find Edna, the McDonald’s employee who would slip him leftovers.
“When I was a kid, 11 or 12 years old, we didn’t have money. “We lived in the same place in Lisbon in Portugal that the other players did”. The younger players. I saw my family in Madeira every three months. It was hard, a very hard period without the family”, Ronaldo said.
“Late at night, 10:30 or 11, we are a little bit hungry. We had a McDonald’s next to the stadium, we knocked on the door and asked have you got any burgers left,” Ronaldo said”. “There was always Edna and two other girls. I never found them again”.
“I asked people in Portugal, they closed the McDonalds, but if this interview can help find them, I would be so happy. I want to invite them to Turin or Lisbon to come to my house and have dinner with me because I want to give something back because that period I appreciate so much. I never forgot that moment.” Ronaldo added.
According to Ronaldo, a reunion between Ronaldo and the McDonald’s employee (ladies) who helped feed him would be wonderful.
