In initiation of the 2019 COSAFA Youth Championship, The Football Association of Malawi (FAM) has made all the matches for which Malawi is hosting from 11-20 October in Blantyre free of charge.
Limbani Matola, Commercial Director of FAM said the move is aimed at giving all football loving Malawians a chance to watch the future Flames as they aim to win the championship for the first time since 2001, when Malawi last hosted the tournament.
However, Matola said fans will have to collect access tickets in designated places.
“Preparations for hosting the tournament are over and we are delighted to inform all football loving Malawians that the games are absolutely free of charge.
“However, we have arranged for match day access tickets which everyone who is coming to watch these games is supposed to show upon entering the Stadium gates.
“People can access the tickets in Chiwembe residential area at Map Offices and Malawi Housing Corporation Offices, Misesa Primary School towards Chigumula and Kamuzu Stadium,” said Matola.
According to Matola, the tickets have been produced to control crowds and enhance security at the match venues.
Malawi will play their entire group A matches at the Mpira Stadium and will begin the campaign with a game against South Africa on Saturday before meeting Eswatini on Monday and Zambia on Wednesday.
The tournament will start on Friday with Lesotho playing Comoros in the opening fixture at 11 am while Angola will take on Mozambique in the later game.
