The former Malawi national team and Beforward Wanderers playmaker, Joseph Kamwendo has revealed that he has ventured into football coaching after hanging up his boots recently.
Kamwendo left quite a legacy for his contributions to Malawi’s football.
He played for the Flames, Beforward Wanderers, and played his international football in South Africa, Denmark, Zimbabwe, Mozambique and Democratic Republic of Congo.
Kamwendo is now earmarked to coach Simbi United a Mchinji based team which is owned by business tycoon, Peter Simbi.
The team is set to play in the Central Region Football Association premier league, after they secured the place that was formerly occupied by Mlatho Mponela.
Kamwendo confirmed the development saying that the discussions with the team are currently at an advanced stage.
Recently the former midfield maestro, launched the Joseph Kamwendo Foundation which deals with grassroot football.
He also hails from Mchinji district.
