Mighty Wanderers technical director Yasin Osman has warned the 10th placed Nomads that winning two of their remaining three games is a must if they are to escape the 2014 TNM Super League drop.

Wanderers, whose season has been more on the down than up, have 28 points having lost 1-0 to Silver Strikers on Sunday, a day after a goalless draw with Epac FC at the same venue, Civo Stadium in Lilongwe.

“If we lose all our remaining matches and the teams below us win all their games, we could be in danger. We need to win two of the remaining games,” Osman said before the weekend games.

Wanderers’ survival battle continues this Sunday when they host in-form Kamuzu Barracks at Balaka Stadium. Captain Jacob Ngwira said they were capable of turning around their fortunes if they change their attitude towards games. Ngwira and defender Bongani Kayipa missed the Lilongwe trip through injuries.

Placed below Wanderers on 11th place are Epac with 27 points; with also three games to go, followed by Airborne Rangers on 26 points.

Blantyre United, are despite their 2-0 beating of second from bottom Chikwawa United on Sunday, still in relegation area on 20 points with four matches to complete the season. Blantyre United is one point ahead of the Shire Valley side which has played 25 games.

A 1-3 loss to leaders Big Bullets on Saturday at Kamuzu Stadium confirmed Karonga United’s relegation as their maximum tally if they win the remaining games is 25 points. Airborne Rangers have already surpassed this tally.

Up the table, Big Bullets, who lead on 53 points, six ahead of Moyale Barracks, can seal the league title on superior aggregate if they win two of their three remaining games and if second-placed Moyale lose one out of the four matches they are yet to play.
