National Bank of Malawi has donated K1 million to Malawi national football team the flames to the team as it prepares the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying campaign against Mali at Kamuzu Stadium on Saturday and away in Ethiopia on Wednesday.
The development comes barely days after Airtel Malawi’s donation of MK10 million to the team.
Speaking after the donation at Kamuzu Stadium on Thursday , NBM Marketing Officer Wilkins Mijiga said that the company had bought K1 million advertising space for two perimeter fence advertising boards as of helping Football Association Malawi’s call for the corporate world to help.
On his part, FAM’s Competitions Officer Gomezgani Zakazaka applauded National Bank for the offer to buy the advertising space.
Malawi is in group B alongside Algeria, Ethiopia and Mali. Malawi is bottom of the group with 3 points from four games.
Malawi needs to win all its remaining games.
