Mighty Be Forward Wanderers on Saturday outclassed their long arch-rivals Big Bullets FC 6-5 through post-match penalty to be crowned Champions of Blantyre Mayor’s Charity Shield at Kamuzu Stadium.
Both sides displayed fantastic football in the first half with Wanderers talking a lead in ball possession.
Although this was the case Wanderers failed to unlock the defence of Bullets FC and the first half ended in a draw.
Come second half, Bullets FC looked a changed side as they were fast on the ball as compared to Wanderers.
Fischer Kondowe, Henry Kabichi and Dalitso Sailesi proved too good on the midfield as they were able to move with the ball from the mid-field going up-front.
Wanderers goalkeeper Gerald Chipuwa was called into action on several times to save his team from destruction as Bullets players were on rampage in search for goals.
Bullets had lots of chances in the second half through Tizgowele Kumwenda and Fitcher kondowe but all the chances were squandered and the game ended in goalles. The development forced the referee to call for penalties.
Kondowe, Pilirani Zonda, Kabichi, Miracle Gabeya and Yamikani Fodya all converted their penalties for Bullets but Frazer Menyani had his penalty saved by Chipuwa While Wanderers players all scored their penalties.
Wanderers received K1 million for the Victory.
