Malawi national netball team the Queens is scheduled to go into camp today at Chiwembe Technical centre in the commercial Capital Blantyre ahead of their trip to England.
Netball Association of Malawi (NAM) President Rosy Chinunda confirmed of the development in an interview with the Press.
“I can confirm that the Queens will today start their camping”, said Chinunda.
“Government has already given us a go-ahead. Already we have K4 million for the camp government will also take care of the other expenses like air tickets. Like I always say, government has always been there for us and we are grateful”.
Chinunda also disclosed that Mwai Kumwenda will not be part of the squad heading to England.
Mwai is in bad books with NAM over allowances and the development forced her to shun Queens preparations ahead of the Fast five series played in New Zealand.
The Queens lost all its matches at the tournament.
