The 2014 TNM Super League champions Big Bullets FC will this weekend January 24, play a friendly match against Red Lions at Kamuzu Stadium in order to raise fund for flood victims across the country.
So far the heavy rains and floods have killed more than 200 people and left about 200 000 others homeless.
Big Bullets general secretary, Harold Fote, speaking with Malawi-Sports in an interview said as a club, Bullets was concerned with the troubles of the people affected by the floods and as such it is committed towards helping them.
“What has happened to our fellow Malawians is cause for concern for us as Big Bullets,” Fote said.
“We would like to join government and other organisations in raising funds for the affected areas.”
Fote further explained that they would use the gate collections for the game to buy food and essentials for the affected people.
“Right now 200,000 people are homeless, without food or shelter and we need to assist them.
“As a club, we have supporters residing in the areas affected by the floods,” he said.
