Elvis Kafoteka who is also the former Vice captain of the national team ‘The Flames’ has fired a lawsuit against Football Association of Malawi (FAM) for receiving compensation after he got injured during national team duty.
Information reaching Malawi-sports indicate that Kafoteka sustained open fracture during the East and Central Africa Senior Challenge Cup held in Dar-es-Salaam in Tanzania.
The former Escom United midfielder-turned defender disclosed that he has filed a lawsuit after paying K400, 000 to meet costs of medical bill for a fracture injury he sustained in Tanzania.
“I have consulted my lawyers to file for a lawsuit because FAM has not honoured their promise that they will sort me,” Kafoteka said.
However Malawi National Council of Sports insisted that it would not entertain Kafoteka’s complaint because he sustained the injury before enforced the insurance policy of national team players for all the disciplines.
