The Football Association of Malawi (Fam) has announced that it has started preparations for the national football team ‘The Flames’ as the first Fifa calendar date for international friendly games is scheduled for March 29 and Fam wants the team to be at full strength.
Fam general secretary Suzgo Nyirenda, speaking with Malawi-Sports in an interview said they were still hunting for a team to play the Flames.
We have approached several teams on the possibility of playing the Flames,” Nyirenda said.
“There are teams like Egypt, who are traveling to play Botswana and we are looking at the possibility of them passing by to play us.
“We have also contacted Uganda, Kenya and there was also Swaziland.”
“But we will let you know which team the Flames will play after we have finalized everything.”
