TNM Super League and Carlsberg Cup Champions Big Bullets have suffered another setback ahead of its participation in CAF Champions League scheduled to start next month.
Information reaching FaceofMalawi indicates that Sankhani Mkandawire, one of the key players in the People’s team has resigned from the club for unknown reason.
Confirming the development in an interview with one of the local media house this morning, Bullets FC General Secretary Harold Fote said the quitting of Sankhani is a big blow to the People’s team.
“Yes I can confirm that we have received the resignation letter from Sankhani Mkandawire. To be honest with you, he has not indicated any reason for his decision.
“This is a big blow to us as Big Bullets family but we have to respect his decision”, said Fote.
FOM’s effort to talk to Sankhani Mkandawire proved futile has his mobile phone was not available.
Bullets will start the CAF Champions League with an away assignment to Comoro Islands to face Fomboni FC on the weekends of February 13-14 and the return leg will be played at Kamuzu Stadium in the following week.
