Big Bullets players have recently asked the teams officials for an increase in their allowances ahead of CAF Champions League preliminary first-round clash against Fomboni Football Club de Moheli in the Comoros Islands on February 14.
Sources gathered by Malawi-Sports indicate that the team initially offered the players 250 dollars (K120 000 each) for their week-long sojourn ahead of the encounter, but the players have opted for twice as much.
“This is a trip that requires better allowances. We have, therefore, agreed to ask for an increase from 250 dollars to 500 dollars each. We trust that our administrators will hear our cry,” said team captain Fischer Kondowe.
However Bullets general secretary Harold Fote, who has also made the trip, in response to the development said they will consider the request although they are operating on a thin budget.
“We will see how we can deal with the matter. However, the players should be assured that their request will be considered,” said Fote.
