TNM Super League and Carlsberg Cup Champions Big Bullets FC have warned Silver Strikers to stay away from Victor Limbani, saying signing him is like invading the Lion’s den.
The development follows the announcement made by Silver Striker’s General Secretary Mike Tembo through a privately owned radio (ZBS) on Tuesday that the team has signed Limbani from Blantyre United at a fee of MK1.8 million.
“We approached Blantyre United after being told by Lawson Nakoma that Bullets failed to give him a contract. We negotiated with Nakoma and we agreed to pay him MK1.8 million so everything is done, the player is ours and will arrive in Lilongwe any day to start his new life with us,” Tembo was quoted as saying.
Reacting to the news, Bullets General Secretary Harold Fote lambasted the move, accusing Silver Strikers of being frustrated by the team’s participation in CAF Champions League.
“Let me warn Silver Strikers, they are playing with fire. They have started a war which they can’t win.
They are jealousy of our CAF Champions League participation. They won the TNM Super League three times but never took part in the Champions League so they are jealousy with us but they are playing with fire,” he said.
Meanwhile effort to talk to Blantyre United Technical Director Lawson Nakoma proved futile as his mobile phone was not available.
