The minister of Sports and Culture Grace Obama Chiumia has called upon all stake holders and different organization to help the People’s team Big Bullets (BB) as they are carrying the Malawian Flag in CAF Champions League.
Obama said this in an interview with Malawi-Sports.com on Thursday this week as she was asked to comment on the BB’s victory.
Chiumia said she is happy that a club like Bullets is putting Malawi on the Map hence they need much support.
“I was very excited to learn that bullets won on such an international match, however
I was very sad to realize that they suffered a lot to make it to Comoro’s Island after they received insults from their rivals hence we are all Malawians and we need to support each other,” Grace said.
The minister added that as one of her roles to support sports in Malawi she called for arms in the parliament to help the team.
She also said she was happy that some companies assisted the team when they needed a help and such companies they need a special honor.
“TNM and other companies have shown that they are real friends who can help in times of needy; however they are also some individual people that also need to be thanked who personally saw it that it was necessary to help the team,” she said.
Commenting on the same BB Chairman Kondi Msungama said he is happy with the wow support that companies have given his team and he however said he is still asking for more help from people and the cooperate world.
“We won the game with the Fomboni and we are looking for the same in the next game on 28th month, however if we win we will need more support to travel to Sudan where we will face another team hence without support this will only be a dream” Msungama said.
In extension the minister saluted some companies like Beforward, Airtel Malawi and other companies including individuals that are helping to make Malawian sports to be on the Global Map.
