Central Region Premier Division winners, Dedza Young Soccer are celebrating their promotion into the TNM super league and have promised to stay in the Malawi’s prestigious league.
This has come about after the club defeated Dowa united last Saturday, 21 February, to qualify for the league.
In an interview with Malawi-sports.com, the club’s manager, Millius Jegwe Pofela said he is happy that they have made it to the league after a long struggling in the premier division.
“The battle is not over yet although we have made it to the TNM super league we still have a lot to do as people are patiently waiting for our adorable performances in the cup,” Jegwe said.
Highlighting on the sponsorship Pofela said he is happy that some people have shown their interest to support the team financially as some companies have promised to work hand in hand with the club.
“We have been promised by some well-wishers that they will give us support as some companies have assured us of their sponsorship as well, hence we will be selling jerseys and other football items to support ourselves,” Millius said.
In addition, Jegwe said his team is not afraid to be in the league as some people are speculating that they are afraid that their team will not meet the challenge of tougher teams in the super league.
“As a team we have always been ready to face challenges; however we will never be relegated but we will always work hard to reach where others have never reached,” said the manager.
The TNM Super League is set to start in April this year.
