Silver Strikers FC playmaker Green Harawa who as of recently was tipped to be moving to a Mauritius club has turned down the offer and insists that he will stay put with the bankers.
Silver chairperson MacDonald Mafuta-Mwale confirming of the development with Malawi-Sports said the midfielder is not satisfied with the conditions offered by the Mauritius clubs.
“We had outright offers from two clubs, but Harawa turned them down, saying he will not be comfortable there. There is nothing we can do about it,” said Mafuta-Mwale, who could, however, not disclose what the club could have benefited had a deal materialized.
We have also rejected another offer from Be Forward Mighty Wanderers who were seeking Harawa’s services,” revealed the chairperson.
“We cannot sell him to competition. The player himself is also not willing,” he said.
However when approached, Wanderers general secretary Mike Butao refused to comment on Silver’s claims.
