Defending Rainbow Netball champions Diamond Queens will this weekend be aiming to top the Southern Region Netball League as they face Complex Tigresses on Saturday at Blantyre Youth Centre.
Information reaching Malawi-Sports indicate Tigresses top the league with 12 points as they chase fifth straight win while Diamonds are second with nine points from three games.
Speaking in a telephone interview Diamonds coach Griffin Saenda on their next match saidf it would be a tough task as it would give the winners a big advantage and confidence for the rest of the season.
“We have lost some players, but we are not panicking. As usual we will approach the game with positive attitude as we seek to defend the league,” he said.
In a separate interview Tigresses assistant coach, Charles Mhango, said they were set to win.
“Every team desires to win such battles and that is what we want to do. This game is important because an early bird catches the worm. If we do well now, it will take away pressure from us,” he said.
