Malawi national team the flames on Wednesday night outclassed South Africa 5-4 through post-match penalties to progress in the 2015 Cosafa Cup plate finals to be played this coming Friday.
Flames win comes barely 24 hours after being booted out of the 2015 Cosafa Cup by Mozambique.
Despite many Malawi casting some doubts in the team, flames managed to get hold of BafanaBafana throughout the 90 minutes of the game, forcing the match to go into penalties.
Flames goalkeeper Macdonald Harawa was a hero of the day as he managed to save two penalties from Mark Van Heerden and Siyabonga Nhlapo.
Malawi national team scored five penalties through Frank Banda, Limbikani Mzave, Lucky Malata, Robin Ngalande, Zicco Mkanda and Mician Mhone missed his penalty while South Africa scored through Clayton Daniel,Lebo Manyama,Motjeka Madisha,Mduduzi Nyanda while Marc Van Heerden and Siyabonga Nhlapo missed.
Meanwhile flames will face Zambia in the finals.
