Malawi national football team, the Flames, on Sunday went down 2-0 to Zambia’s Chipolopolo in the International friendly match played at Nkoloma stadium in Lusaka.
The friendly was organized in preparation ahead of the Cosafa Cup scheduled to on May 17, 2015 in South Africa.
Flames are scheduled to start the Cosafa Cup campaign against Zimbabwe on May 22.
Zambia took an early lead through its Defender Christopher Munthali in the 23rd minute before Kondwani Mtonga headed in the second goal in 34th minute.
The two goals were enough for the Chipolopolo to defeat flames which looked disorganized as described by one of the local daily papers in Zambia.
After the game, Flames coach Young Chimodzi expressed hope that his side is able and asked for patients from soccer fans in the country.
Meanwhile the national football team is expected to arrive in the country today.
