Malawi national team the flames have moved two steps up on the latest Fifa Coca-Cola rankings from 97 to 95 in the World.
The development has been attributed to the recent performance the team displayed at the just ending Cosafa Cup where the team managed win the Plate by beating the host South Africa and Zambia.
Flames are now ranked 26th in Africa and 5th in the Cosafa Region behind Zambia, South African, Mozambique and Angola.
World Cup winners Germany remain number one globally, with Belgium moving up one spot to second, ahead of Argentina, Colombia and Brazil.
