Surestream Petroleum Limited has pullout its sponsorship to Surestream Football Club following confirmed reports that former Technical Director Peter Mponda registered the club under his name.
Speaking to one of the media house on Tuesday, Surestream Spokesperson Linda Gombera said, Surestream management has agreed with Peter Mponda to take all the players who are above 18 years of age and those below will remain with academy.
She further said that the academy will still roll out despite the departure of the team.
“As the management we have agreed to leave the club to Peter Mponda, this means that Mr. Mponda must change the name of the club and Surestream will not take part in any affairs of the team,” said Linda.
On his part Mponda confirmed the ownership of the club saying all the issues surrounding the impulse have been resolved peacefully.
“It’s true that now the club is being run under my name and currently am in the process of finding the new sponsors,” said Mponda.
Surestream currently is on position 14 in TNM Super League with six points from 9 games.
