Big Bullets FC on Sunday continued from where they stopped in the 2015 TNM Super League campaign to thrash Silver Strikers Reserve 3-0 to reach quarter-finals of the Carlsberg Cup.
The Junior Bankers had an impressive start of the first with the defence led by Moses Chilongo, Joel Kasuzyo, Dothy Phiri and Samalani Makunganya managing to contain the pressure exerted by Bullets striking force led Jaffali Chande, Mussa Manyenje and Amos Nkhamula.
Although this was the case, experience played a vital role in the match as Bullets managed to secure their first goal through a header by Chande in the 30th minute of the first half.
The goal gave the people’s more anger for the second goal. No wonder Bullets increased the lead through header by Manyenje.
In the second half, Bullets made two tactical changes by bringing in Davie Ng’ambi and James Chilapondwa for Eneya Banda and Chande and this paid off just 20 minutes of the second half as Bullets scored the third goal through Amos Nkhamula.
The Junior Bankers tried had to press for the equalizer by bringing in some news faces in the pitch but it was rather too late to contain the pressure of Bullets and the game ended 3-0.
Speaking to the press after game, Bullets Coach Nsazwurimo Ramadan hailed his charges for putting up grant fight to collect maximum points.
On his part, Silver Reserve Coach Lyton Mangani blamed lack of concentration among the players.
Meanwhile Bullets will now face MAFCO Fc at Civo Stadium in the capital Lilongwe this coming Weekend.
