Flames care taker coach Enerst Mtawali and Former Flames coach Young Chimodzi have rebuffed Swaziland Premier Soccer League giants Mbabane Highlanders’ job offers.
Agents of highlanders opt for Malawi football legends after failing to acquire the services of David Solopi, according to Swaziland’s Times newspaper on Saturday

Mtawali on Wednesday declined to comment on the Swaziland offer, but the Times quoted him as saying: “I was called by someone who only referred to himself as a Dlamini from Highlanders offering me the job, but I am yet to respond.”

Chimodzi, who was sacked as Flames coach on June 14, a day after kick-starting the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying race with a 2-1 home loss to Zimbabwe, yesterday said he does not fancy working outside Malawi.

“I need to settle down and concentrate on my business. I declined the offer from Swaziland before they even presented an offer. Maybe it shows that they saw something in me as a coach,” he explained, while refusing to comment if he would entertain domestic offers.

Time s further quoted Highlanders publicist Celucolo Dlamini, only confirming that the club’s managing director, Bheki Simelane was talking to a number of coaches on the vacant coaching job.

“Truth is that the club will announce the right person probably next week to intensify its preseason training,” Dlamini said.

Highlanders seem to have not given up their hunt for a Malawian coach.
Reports suggest the Mbabane outfit is closing in on former Big Bullets coach Meke
