Malawi netball super star Mwiwi Kumwenda has finally joined camp for national netball team ahead of the World Netball Cup ending impasse with the Netball Association of Malawi (NAM).
Kumwenda started training with the rest of the team at Blantyre youth Centre on Sunday.
NAM Secretary General Carol Bapu confirmed of the development in an interview with the Press, saying her presence has is morale booster to the team.
“I can confirm that Mwawi Kumwenda has finally joined her friends in queens’ camp ahead of the netball world championship next month,” said Bapu.
Mwawi’s manager and legal adviser Hlupekire Chalamba also confirmed of the development in an interview with Faceofmalawi.
“She [Mwawi] will join camp on Monday [today] for the sake of the nation, but we are not amused with NAM,” she said.
Mwawi started shunning Queens’s camp last year over the outstanding arrears NAM hold against the team and she vowed to fight for her fellow players.
