Mighty Be Forward Wanderers dream of finishing top in the first round of the 2015 TNM Super League suffered a setback on Sunday following a 1-1 draw against Moyale Barracks at Kamuzu Stadium.
Wonderers started the game on high note pressing Moyale Barracks from left and right throughout the first half. Although this was the case, Moyale managed to contain the pressure and the first half ended goalless
The Lions of Kaning’na were the first one to score in the second half through ChrispinFukizi from a long range shot which passed nomads goalkeeper Richard Chipuwa.
As the match was approach 20 minutes of play in the second half, the fracas erupted outside the stadium where Police where Police officers shot a 15-year old boy twice in the stomach as they were chasing a fan suspected to have stolen a mobile phone.
The development did not go down well with the fans who reacted by stoning the Police. In retaliation the officers fired teargas to disperse the crowd.
Instead of dispersing the angry mob which was searching for the revenge ended up disturbing the match in the Kamuzu Stadium as smoke was all over.
The match resumed 30 minutes later and Wanderers looked composed as they could attack moyale from all angles. This effort paid of the dying minutes of the game as nomads equalized through Mapopa Kaunda.
The draw means Wanderers is now having 25 points from 13 games and they are remaining with one assignment to finish the first round.
Big Bullets currently on top with 29 points from 13 games and is assured of finishing top.
