Malawi Queens continue to make headlines at the ongoing Netball World Cup in Sydney as the team has team has beaten Uganda 59-53 in their final qualification Pool E clash.
The Queens had an impressive start with Mwawi Kumwenda and Sindie Simtowe tearing Uganda’s Uganda’s She Cranes apart. The combination of the two made the Queens to outclass Uganda 19-10 in the first quarter.
In the second quarter, She Cranes of Uganda changed the style of play to hit the Queens by surprised but Malawi Queens managed to contain the pressure and the quarter ended (35-22) in favour of the Queens.
In the third quarter, the Queens struggled and Uganda managed to close the gap, making it 15-14.
The last quarter Uganda scored better than Malawi 9-17 but it was too late to upset the tables and the match ended 59-53 in favour of the Queens.
Meanwhile the Queens will now face world giants New Zealand on Wednesday.
