Malawi national netball team shooter Mwawi Kumwenda has been named player of the tournament at the just ending 2015 Netball World Cup at Sydney, Australia.
Kumwenda has been outstanding throughout the tournament as she led the Malawi Queens in four straight wins at the beginning competition
The sensational shooter managed to net 351 goals in 8 games over the 10 days recording 91% accuracy rate.
Speaking to the press after the tournament, Kumwenda could not hide her joy.
“I am pleased with my performance during the event but I don’t think of me. I really concentrate on the whole team’s performance and try to do my best for them,” said Kumwenda.
Malawi Queens has finished on position 6 at world level and second in Africa following a 48-46 loss to South Africa in the early hours of Sunday.
The team is expected to arrive in the country on Tuesday through Kamuzu International Airport in the capital Lilongwe.
