Big Bullets goalkeeper, Owen Chaima will have to stay away from playing for his team due to an injury.
That is according to the clubs general secretary Kelvin Moyo who said Chaima could be out for at least six weeks after suffering a serious shoulder injury during their 4-2 TNM Super League encounter against Red Lions. Chaima collided with Red Lions players.
After the injury, it took 10 minutes for the medical team to rush him to the hospital because there was no ambulance at the stadium.
He was rushed to Queen Elizabeth Central Hospital using a Bullets marketing mini bus.
Moyo said Chaima’s injury has put them on a tight rope because another goalkeeper, Vincent Gona is also nursing an injury.
“We are in a tricky position because it means we have Chimwemwe Kunkwawa as the sole keeper. But if things get out of hand, we will have no option but to include Swadick Sanudi on the goalkeepers list,” said Moyo.
The goalkeeper crisis at Bullets has come at a time the team is enjoying top form in the league having played 16 games unbeaten.
Their next fixture is on Sunday against Moyale Barracks in the Standard Bank Cup at the Civo Stadium.
