Steve Liwewe Banda, the local sports analyst has admitted that Christopher John Banda can carry the responsibility of the Malawi National football team.
Recently the performance of the Flames has come under scrutiny after the team managed to savage a single point from two outings in the 2017 African Cup of Nation (AFCON) qualifies.
As this was not enough, the team was booted out of 2018 World Cup qualifying campaign in early stages by the Taifa stars of Tanzania 2-1 on aggregate.
Soon after the Flames elimination FAM’s President Walter Nyamilandu slammed the defeat, saying the Flames is lacking a match maker who can carry the responsibility of the team.
However, Veteran soccer commentator had the different views to those of FAM President, saying the team had already a match maker in the name of John Banda, who put up an outstanding performance against the Taifa stars.
“I don’t think the President should have said the team doesn’t have a match maker.
“John Banda has been spotted now as a much maker for Malawi, basing on what we saw in the game against Tanzania,” he reiterated.
Liwewe also explained that there is no need for Flames coach Ernest Mtawali to be hunting for a match maker.
“Where are we going to manufacture the match maker?, for me the coach should work with John Banda,” he said.
