Malawi national football team on Monday outclassed Sudan 2-1 in the ongoing Cecafa Senior Challenge Cup campaign taking place in Ethiopia.
According to match reports monitored on the social media, Sudan had all the chances to collect maximum points but Flames defence chaired by Miracle Gabeya managed to contain the pressure throughout the 90 minutes.
Bullets top goal scorer, Chiukepo Msowaya gave flames an early lead in the 13th minute of match after receiving a through ball from Schumacher Kuwali.
The celebration did not last long as Sudan came hard and equalized few minutes later through Atahir EL-Tahir.
In the 32nd minute, Dalitso Sailesi, the only new face in Flames squad increased the lead.
Sudan nearly equalized in the dying minutes of the second half as the team was awarded a penalty which was beautifully saved Simplex Nthara.
After the match, Flames coach Ernest Mtawali hailed his charges for a wonderful performance.
The win means Flames is on second position in group C with South Sudan toping the group after demolishing Djibout 2-0 in an early kickoff.
