Nyasa Big Bullets, currently the reigning TNM Super League champions will be at Zomba Central Hospital today where they will donate assorted items to patients as a token of appreciation to their supporters.
This has all been possible, courtesy of the mobile network provider, TNM.
In the previous year, the Carlsberg Cup runners-up did alike as they visited people of Phalombe after being victorious in the League as well as the Carlsberg Cup in 2014
Apart from receiving prize money for winning the league extra money is to be given to the People’s Team for charity work. Bullets chairperson, Sam Chilunga confirmed this and adds that the team has received about K2 million to buy assorted items.
Adding on, Chilunga says that the initiative is the brainchild of the Super League sponsors, TNM.
“Let me first of all thank TNM for the initiative, sometimes it is good to remember our friends who are suffering in hospitals, prisons and those who need our help. If you recall last year the team went to Phalombe to visit those who were affected by floods. This time around we will be in Zomba for a similar exercise,” he said.
TNM public relations and sponsorship manager, Limbani Nsapato said the initiative was part of their corporate social responsibility to thank soccer fans for being part and parcel of the just-ended season.
“As TNM we give the winning team these items to donate where ever they want and we believe that the team that has won the title has the following from various corners of this country,” he said.
