Malawi national football team up-and-coming play-maker, Gerald Phiri Jnr, has started a new lease of life after completing his four-month loan move to Botswana Be Mobile Premier League side, Township Rollers.
The table-topping Gaborone side unveiled the 22-year-old Flames player on Wednesday to unite with former Be Forward Wanderers captain, Lawrence Majawa.
Phiri will return to South Africa’s BidVest Wits after the loan when his permanent residency papers are expected to be ready. Lack of competitive football has affected the midfielder’s form.
“I feel excited today and diligently look forward to work with a competitive squad, and learn a lot from the seniors here,” Phiri told www.rollersfc.com.
“I know that I shall have to perform at my level best to book my place into the line-up to gain experience and game-time, no options, and help the club reach the supporters’ objectives. I now passionately look ahead to play my first game with Township Rollers.”
