Blantyre football gurus, Big Bullets and Be Forward Wanderers, have descended on Civo United while eyeing the Lilongwe club’s three senior players namely; defenders Emmanuel Zoya, John Lanjesi and midfielder Nelson Kangunje.

Civo acting-general secretary, Charles Mwenda, confirmed yesterday that Wanderers inquired on the availability of Standard Bank Knock-Out Cup-winner Kangunje, whereas Bullets are eyeing Zoya and Lanjesi.

“These are our senior players and also national team regulars, so we will meet to decide whether to let them go and evaluate the price tag,” Mwenda said.

Bullets vice-general secretary, Kelvin Moyo, on Thursday said they would keep their cards on the players’ transfers close to their chests to avoid jeopardizing the process.

“We want four senior players. We will unveil two players after two weeks and the rest afterwards. The sponsors have given us the challenge to win the league championship, if not win cups. The target is that we should participate in Caf Confederation Cup next year,” Moyo said on Thursday.

Zoya, a versatile defender who graduated through the developmental ranks and has some caps, confirmed that Bullets were interested in his services. He is a throw-in specialist who also made his name as a solid left-back.

“I might be traveling to Blantyre today for talks. I cannot commit myself to Bullets before I look at their offer. My contract expires this year, and there are indications that Bullets are ready to buy it out,” Zoya explained.

Wanderers general secretary, Kelvin Moyo, refused to comment.
