Silver Strikers are set to release ten of its players of which their names are unknown due to dismal performance. This comes in as a step in the exercise of rebuilding the team.
Commenting on the matter, General Secretary for the team, Chimwemwe Mkhwimba, said that the technical panel and executive committee were yet to release the final list.
He confirmed, “We are on massive rebuilding exercise so we are bringing some new players and others will go, but for now, we have not made a decision on which players would be released. We will communicate once we finalize the issue.”
However sources have it that the ten players to be released include: Peter Pindani, Lazarus Nyemera, Ian Banda, Dailesi Yasin, Blessings Banda, Rodrick Gonani, Thoko Stambuli, Mabvuto Khozomba, John Banda and Ndaona Daisi.
Gonani has been linked with a move to Epac whereas Mzuni are reportedly interested in signing Nyemera.
It has been discovered that other players would be loaned out to other teams. The Central Bankers are also on the verge of losing forward Green Harawa, Ndaziona Chatsalira and Lucky Malata to Mozambique and South Africa respectively.
Silver have already signed Wizards duo Levison Maganizo and Brighton Munthali and Chipiku League top goal scorer Clement Trota and Herbert Wayekha from Msundwe United.
Last season, Silver had a difficult season having finished the TNM Super League on position five with 44 points and also ended trophy-less.
