Football Association of Malawi’s disciplinary committee today has released a press which demonstrated that they have banned Karonga United owner Willy Yabwanya Phiri, Wilkins Mijiga and Tiya Somba Banda from Football Activities for taking Football Matters to Court.
These three people last year failed in elections for FAM positions they were very frustrated and confused. They thought that the election was not conducting fairly. Therefore, the three took the matter to court.
Following that the three were charged with taking a football dispute to a conventional court after they tried to stop FAM elections through an injunction on December 12.
Willy Yabwanya and Mijiga contested for the presidency during the FAM polls but lost to Walter Nyamilandu Manda.
Tiya Somba Banda contested for the Vice Presidency of FAM, but also lost.
However, this development has come to light after Yabwanya has already resigned as trustee of Karonga United yesterday.
