Cristiano Ronaldo fired a stunning hat-trick to pull Real Madrid back from a 2-0 first-leg deficit against Wolfsburg and into the Champions League semifinals.
The Ronaldo scored twice within 88 seconds in the first half and added a late free kick which brought to 3-0 victory at the Bernabeu. This is what paved the way for Real Madrid into semifinals.
The Real Madrid after the first leg defeat by Germans-Wolfsburg their hope vanished into a thin air but an inspired Ronaldo wiped out the deficit. The giant Ronaldo scored twice within two minutes, the second a glancing header into the far corner.
“I’m really happy, it was a great game, “said Ronaldo after the match. “The side played well, we came into the match strongly. We played with intensity in the opening minutes and we scored two quick goals.”
This treble was his 37th hat-trick for the Spanish outfit and in turn he became the first player to net three hat-tricks in one UEFA Champions League season.
