Zomba residents will witness the sixth annual Sub-Saharan Africa Family Enrichment (Safe) charity golf tournament at Gymkhana Club this Saturday.
Several teams have promised to participate such as African Alliances Securities, Toyota Malawi, Countrywide Car Hire and these among others.
The main objective of this year tournament according to the organization’s executive director Moira Chimombo, is raising funds for needy students.
“We would like to offer needy students scholarship to go into training in a field of their choice, whether academic, professional, or technical. We expect these beneficiaries to be able to support later their communities thereby serving as role models for future generations in their respective communities for long-term sustainability,” she said.
However, according to Chimombo, each student requires a minimum bursary of k500 000 per year. Therefore, she asked well-wishers to support this move.
