Despite the fact that TNM Super League is underway, Mighty Be Forward Wanderers has notified the public that the club has been invited to participate in the chief minister’s Cup international football tournament from June 24 to July 3 in India.
In the invitation letter dated April 22 2016 signed under the organizing Committee Chairperson, H Chandrashekar also elaborated the purpose of conducting this football tournament. The prominent one is to provide a platform to young enthusiastic footballers and enable sporting teams around the world to come together and learn from each other.
Wanderer’s general secretary Mike Butao confirmed the development and said that they have already informed Super League of Malawi on such trip.
Butao welcomed such development as it will open different opportunities to the players.
The trip is limited to squad of 18 whereby their expenses are already paid by the organizing Committee.
However, Sulom secretary Williams Banda said Wanderers might be allowed to take part in the tournament if the dates of the cup do not hinder the Malawi football calendar.
